[ It sounds like the message is coming from Sakura on the move. She is, in fact, on her way to Sasuke's camp even as she speaks. ]

There are wraiths invading the city, and it's dangerous! Something is happening to people who come into contact with them, and I haven't figured out the pattern yet. I'm on my way to warn Sasuke.

[Hanabi's voice is very quiet when she replies.]

I've been helping to fight them from a distance with my elemental magic. Otherwise, I'm hiding.

[ There's a sense of relief as she checks Hanabi off the list, she's alright. This was so sudden Sakura hadn't been sure how she might be doing, or any of the students, really. ]

Have you had any better luck with elemental magic?

[ She took the cue and lowered her voice accordingly. ]

Earth can slow their movements, air can blow them away from people, and lightning seems to stun them a bit. It works better against the regular undead than the wraiths.

[She's gained more experience fighting the undead than fighting living opponents, here. It's helped her get over the squick and focus more on how to defeat the opponent. It also saves her any moral conflict she might feel over killing.]

That's something at least, but it's worrisome. I don't think I've seen anyone manage to permanently put them down yet. If they just keep getting back up...

[ Well, let's not think about that too hard. She knows all too well just how troublesome an opponent who can shrug off wounds or rapidly regenerate and heal is. ]

I'll see what else I can learn after I talk to Sasuke. I'm not exactly hopeful that he'll listen, but it would put my mind at ease.

The regular undead can be put down, and the ones who can't can usually be driven off, but the wraiths seem a lot stronger.

[If Sakura can't tell what's happening to the people who are coming into direct contact, Hanabi's plan is to stay out of reach to the best of her ability. It's annoying, considering that her magic is strongest when wielded through her palms, as if she's using Gentle Fist.]

That's what worries me, the wraiths... and those "knights". They're especially troublesome.

[ She'd be relieved to know that, but she's a little worried just the same. She doesn't plan on leaving Hanabi on her own for long if she can help it.

PLEASE just let Sasuke be cooperative just this once. ]

Maybe one of the local magic experts will have some idea of what to do. Merlin or maybe Queen Elphame.

Hey, we'll figure it out, right? Either they'll have the answers, or we'll find one ourselves. [ Though if Naruto were here she'd feel reassured, even if that idiot wouldn't have the FIRST CLUE about how to use magic. ]

You're right. There's got to be a better way to deal with them. We just haven't found it yet.
